John McCutcheon is a compelling singer and an outstanding instrumentalist, especially renowned for his hammer dulcimer playing. He performs original music and traditional folk music that he learned from the legendary figures of eastern Kentucky. His songs sing of the nation’s heritage. His words channel the conscience of our people into streams of poetry and melody.

John has made 31 recordings, has been nominated for six Grammys, toured on every continent, and served as the president of local 1000 of the American Federation of Musicians. McCutcheon’s live performances have been described by critics as “little feats of magic,” “breathtaking in their ease and grace...”

The Folk Music Society of New York, Inc. hosts concerts for music lovers who can relax and listen, sing along on the chorus, or dance in the aisles to the best of traditional music. For more information go to www.folkmusicny.org  phone information:  718-672-6399
